An architectural historian by trade, Michelle Sofge-Brunner is committed to doing her part in the task of repairing the built environment and creating beautiful, human-scaled places endowed with meaning and historical resonance. She specializes in the history and theory of eighteenth and nineteenth century art and architecture as well as in the development of the architectural conservation practice, and is currently conducting research on the reconstruction of Frankfurt’s ‘Old Town’ at the Technical University of Berlin. Both in her academic work and in her role as an Editor of the Classic Planning Herald International, Michelle is determined to help bring back beauty and human scale to a disfigured world, and to ensure that the places we build will be cherished and protected centuries from now.
